FATF
Financial Action Task Force
The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) is the intergovernmental body that sets international standards for combating money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing. Its 40 Recommendations are the global benchmark — adopted by 200+ jurisdictions. FATF publishes grey lists (increased monitoring) and black lists (call for action) of non-compliant jurisdictions. Correspondent banking relationships and cross-border transactions with grey/black-listed countries trigger enhanced due diligence requirements under most national AML regimes.
